2024 Resolutions

I set myself a ridiculously ambitious target for 2023. To get 6 books finished and published. In the event, 2023 saw two new novels go into print – “The God of the Dead” and “England’s Pleasant Pastures”. The other four novels are still languishing unfinished on my OneDrive. So what are my goals for 2024? I would like to see book 5 in my Greater German Reich series released in the first quarter. It’s full of war and intrigue, and the first draft is perhaps 75% complete. The recurring themes in my novels

As a multi-genre writer, and a writer of a couple of different series of books, one might expect there to be certain recurring themes – the Nazis in the Greater German Reich for example – but there are also a number of other, more subtle, recurring themes. Characters

When I write a character, I generally have this person in my head, what he looks like, how he acts, what his personality is like. They usually become my best friends. Rob Murgatroyd, Benjamin Beerenwinkel, Saul Castle, even Alex Savage. Some say that there is something of me in every one of the lead characters I’ve written, and perhaps there is.
